Give

Service to the people in our lives and our community is at the heart of everything we do, both in the daily activities of selling houses and in the overarching way that we live our lives.  With the help and generosity of our friends and clients we have been able to give back, both with financial donations and the gift of volunteerism.  We have volunteered with many different non-profits over the years and are amazed and inspired at the breadth of caring hearts we have found in our community.

Here are a few ways that we give back:

Gillette Children’s Hospital:

We absolutely love Gillette Children’s Hospital and make a financial donation to them every time one of our buyers or sellers closes on their home!  This video was put together by RE/MAX Miracle Network a few years ago  and includes (a slightly younger Sharon and Carolyn) talking about Children’s Miracle Network:

Lower Phalen Creek Project:

Another great organization that is near and dear to our hearts is the Lower Phalen Creek Project, and we make a financial donation to them as well every time one of our buyers or sellers closes on their home.  Lower Phalen Creek Project is a Native-Led environmental conservation nonprofit whose mission is to engage people in honoring and caring for our natural places and the sacred sites and cultural value within them.  They focus on environmental education, urban conservation and restoration and cultural connections and healing for the rightful stewards of this land.

Their passion projects include the protection of the Wakan Tipi cave in the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary (now known to many as “Carver’s Cave”) and the building of the future Wakan Tipi Center, an authentic Dakota interpretive center with spaces for gathering, honoring, and healing.  For more information, please visit: LowerPhalenCreek.org.

Our Year of Service:

Since 2015, “Our Year of Service” has been one of our absolutely favorite things!!  Several times during the year, we reach out to our friends, clients and family and put together a group to volunteer at a local non-profit organization.  These events are always super fun and rewarding – gatherings of like-minded, community-oriented people packing food, cooking and serving meals, painting and repairing houses, tying blankets and more!
